Faculty of English

The only Faculty of English in Poland. It has cooperated with numerous universities and scientific institutions in Europe and other parts of the world, including: the University of Florida, the University of Kansas, Michigan State University, the University of London, the University of Helsinki and the University of Vienna.

Majors offered at the faculty include: English studies, Dutch studies, English and Chinese Studies; English studies: literature and culture and English linguistics: theories, interfaces, technologies. Students at the Faculty of English can choose from a variety of BA specializations, e.g. general academic, teaching, Celtic, translation, South African, or theater and drama programs. Specializations offered within MA programs include: American literature and culture; applied cognitive linguistics; language and communication in the media and politics; interpreter training program; Anglophone Canada: literature, culture, language; Australia and New Zealand; Celtic studies, Dutch studies, theater and drama, and an optional module – teacher training.

The Faculty of English is based in two buildings:

  1. Collegium Novum - the main seat of the Faculty of English, al. Niepodległości 4, 61-874 Poznań;
  2. Collegium Chemicum - ul. Grunwaldzka 6, 60-780 Poznań.
