Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, was ranked 339th in the 'green' UI World University Rankings GreenMetric 2023 and maintained its third position among Polish universities.
The ranking assesses activities related to sustainable development and climate protection, including the degree of greening of the university, electricity and water consumption, and the use of transport or waste management.
AMU scored 7100 points (125 more than the previous year). The largest increase in points was recorded in the Settings & Infrastructure category, with 1,100 points up from the 840 obtained last year, followed by a positive change in the Waste category, in which AMU saw an increase of 225 points compared to last year's list.
A total of 1183 universities from around the world were recognised in the ranking. The first place in the country went to the Gdańsk University of Technology, while globally, on the podium were universities from the Netherlands, England and Germany.
