We would like to invite Master and PhD students interested in ecology for the “Numerical ecology” classes with the use of R programme. The course will last one week and will be led by Prof. Alexandre Buttler and Prof. Rodolphe Schlaepfer from the Ecological Systems Laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland. The course is granted with 6 ECTS points. The course is organised within the framework of ERASMUS program at Adam Mickiewicz University. The syllabus is available on the website.

Classes are a simple introduction to multivariate data analysis and modelling that combine a theoretical introduction to R statistics and a practical use of R programme. During the course you will learn how to choose a suitable statistical methods in ecological research and how to integrate them in a research planning. You will also learn how to plan data analysis yourself and how to interpret results. After the course you will be able to use R software for your personal research activities, e.g. for Master or PhD thesis, articles preparation.
