Psychological consultant for study difficulties

Offer for students

The Psychological Consultants for Study Difficulties welcome all students and doctoral students at our university who are experiencing study difficulties and wish to receive support aimed at:

  • sufficient learning and studying,
  • Overcoming barriers to studying resulting from cognitive or emotional-motivational difficulties,
  • managing stress, e.g. in examination situations,
  • effective time management,
  • sufficient preparation for a bachelor's or master's thesis,
  • building motivation to study,
  • developing social competencies,
  • undertaking and fulfilling ambitious life challenges.

In the course of the consultation, students can identify their preferences and predispositions for effective learning. With the help of the consultant, students have the opportunity to develop appropriate, tailor-made methods for mastering the study material applicable to them. They can also familiarise themselves with selected learning techniques and try them out in practice.

The consultations are also used to build up motivation to study, manage time, develop exam-taking skills, and deal with stress in exam and colloquium situations and in situations where there is a backlog of studies, as well as in other life situations inside and outside the university.

In justified cases, the Psychological Consultant prepares, in consultation with students, applications for Rational Adjustments in the educational process for students with disabilities or learning difficulties. These are documents addressed to the authorities of the faculties and the instructors of the course in question, containing recommendations for adequate forms of support for the student within the course of study.

The psychological consultant may also prepare, as part of the consultation, a document addressed to the authorities of the Adam Mickiewicz University Language Studio containing a request for an adapted lecture course for persons with mental and cognitive difficulties and sensory disabilities.

Students who wish to receive a consultancy are asked to contact us by e-mail or telephone.

The psychological consultant also provides support for students speaking English but not Polish.
