Bilingualism Matters
The aim of the center is to disseminate research results and information on multilingualism and multilingual education to the public, as well as to raise awareness in this regard among parents, teachers, and the public sector.
For many years, employees of the Faculty of English AMU have been involved in conducting interdisciplinary research in the area of bi- and multilingualism.
BM@Poznan strives to promote a discussion on the challenges that these phenomena present in the twenty-first century – both in academic circles and in local communities. We also aim to promote knowledge of linguistic diversity in Poland and abroad and to support the cultivation of minority languages.
Bilingualism Matters @Poznań works with parents, teachers, healthcare professionals, decision makers, and employers. In particular, we cooperate with parents raising a bilingual child, teachers and educators running bilingual programs, municipal and educational authorities as well as the general public. The offer of Bilingualism Matters @Poznań includes:
- conducting trainings and workshops on bi- and multilingualism as well as on language learning,
- supporting projects related to foreign language teaching,
- raising the awareness of teachers, parents, and children about the benefits of bilingualism,
- providing access to information and resources through our website and social media channels.
