When does the recruitment start?

Recruitment for all Bachelor's degree courses and most Master's degree courses (exception: Digital Entrepreneurship) starts on 1 June.

When does the recruitment end?

For all Bachelor's degree courses, the last day to pay the enrolment fee, upload documents (including those obtained abroad) and attach a photograph is 9 July. After this date, it will no longer be possible to enrol in the first round of admissions.  The final enrolment results, meanwhile, will be announced on 18 July.

For Master's programmes, the calendar varies depending on the chosen course of study. You can find the exact deadline to enrol for your dream major in our Online Admission System or on our website.

Where can I find information on available study courses?

You will find all the available degree programmes in the recruitment process, with their detailed descriptions, step-by-step instructions and our requirements, in our Online Admission System or on our website.
Please note, the Online Admission System presents every course of study, including those taught exclusively in Polish. To check the degree programmes offered only in English, please filter the results in the sidebar.

What are the semester tuition fees?

Tuition fees vary depending on the chosen major. In 2025, the tuition fee at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, ranges from 0 PLN to 4000 PLN.

You will find the tuition fee amount for the degree programme you are interested in directly next to its description or in a dedicated tab on our website.

Is the recruitment process fully online, or is it required to come to AMU to deliver the documents?

The enrolment process is conducted electronically through the website rekrutacja.amu.edu.pl/en.

Candidates DO NOT submit any physical (paper) documents during the recruitment process. Each of the required documents should be scanned into a separate file in PDF format. A document (e.g. a certificate or diploma) that is more than one page long should be scanned into a single, multi-page PDF file. Document scanning can be done on a scanner or by using dedicated apps for Android or iOS devices.

What is the process for applying?

The application process is simple. Our intuitive system will guide you through the application process in a friendly and understandable way.

  1. Creating an account
The candidate creates an individual account in the Online Admissions System by providing the necessary personal data. Subsequent admission-related operations can only be made after logging in to the created account.
  2. Enrolling in the programme
The candidate chooses a programme/major and type of studies. It is recommended that the candidate thoroughly read the admission requirements for a given programme as well as the admission schedule.
  3. Paying the enrollment fee
The candidate pays an admission procedure fee for the selected programmes/majors. Failure to pay the fee for a given programme means the candidate is not included in the selection procedure for this programme.
  4. Attachment of documents obtained abroad
The candidate with the documents obtained abroad attaches scans of these documents for the purpose of their verification.
  5. Complement of information about the diploma
The candidate enters information about the diploma: final grade on the diploma, diploma issuance date and diploma number.
  6. Uploading a photo
The candidate uploads a high-resolution photo, which will be used when generating the personal questionnaire. The photo of the admitted candidate will also be used in the student identification card. Notice: if you do not upload a photo, the system will not be able to generate the questionnaire!
  7. Lodgment of all required documents by electronic means
Upon enrolling on the programme and paying the enrollment fee, the candidate is obliged to lodge all required documents scans by electronic means within the specified time limit.
  8. Taking the entrance examination
The candidate will receive a message via the Online Admissions System about the date, place and time of the entrance exam. Failure to take the exam means the candidate is not admitted to the programme.
  9. Final results of the selection procedure
The results of the selection procedure will be provided via the Online Admissions System. Upon logging into his/her account, the candidate will see information on admission or denial of admission.

Is there a limit to the majors you can enrol in?

There is no such limit. You can apply for as many majors as you wish :)

How much is the recruitment fee?

An enrolment fee of PLN 85 is payable for each major/specialisation, regardless of the number of majors/specialisations chosen.

How can I pay the recruitment fee from abroad?

The most convenient method is to pay by credit card or via Google Pay / Apple Pay. To do so, log in to the Online Admissions System, click ‘Pay Enrolment’ and select one of the available online methods on the payment method selection screen.

If a card or e-wallet payment is not possible, you can alternatively use an international bank transfer. To do so, select ‘Traditional remittance’ from the “Other” category and then select ‘Deposits from abroad’ from the list of accounts. Use the account number provided (including the SWIFT) and the transfer title starting with “P24” together with the recipient details shown at the top of the page.

You can pay in any currency, but due to exchange fees and accounting time, we recommend payment in PLN or Euro.

Is the enrolment fee refundable at the end of the enrolment process if the applicant has not been admitted to the degree programme?

If the enrolment for a major/specialisation has been paid within the timeframe stated in the recruitment timetable, no refund of the fee can be claimed as the amount has been used to pay for the enrolment.

The enrolment fee paid by the applicant but not used to pay for the enrolment in the course/specialisation for the entire duration of the admission procedure is refundable.

A decision of refusal of admission to a degree programme does not constitute the basis for a refund of the enrolment fee.

Is the admission fee refundable in the event of withdrawal from recruitment?

If the decision to withdraw from recruitment is made before the end of the enrolment period, the fee can be withdrawn (My Enrolment tab, withdraw fee button). It will be released and transferred to the candidate's portfolio.

Such a fee - visible in your account under the “Summary” tab as 'Free sum (available)' - can either be used to pay for enrolment in another course or to apply for a refund. A request for the refund of an unused fee is available in your account under the ‘Payments’ tab.

What documents do I need to prepare for recruitment, and where can I find them?

As a foreign applicant, you are required to prepare the following documents for the recruitment process:

  • Personal questionnaire with a photo
  • A Polish secondary school leaving certificate or a foreign certificate certified with an apostille/legalised entitling to pursue higher education studies in the country where the document was issued;
  • A document on the recognition of a foreign certificate as equivalent to a Polish secondary school leaving certificate. Applies primarily to diplomas issued by non-EU, EFTA and OECD countries.
  • Polish diploma confirming the completion of studies of the first degree or a foreign diploma with an apostille/legalised, entitling to pursue studies at the second degree level in the country of the document's issuance.
  • A document of recognition of a foreign diploma as equivalent to a Polish diploma. Applies primarily to diplomas issued by non-EU, EFTA and OECD countries.
  • The original translation of the certificate/diploma into Polish into Polish/English only for studies conducted in English.
  • proof of language proficiency in Polish at B2 level, unless stated otherwise in the recruitment rules (applies to studies conducted in Polish)
  • a document confirming knowledge of English at the B2 level, unless stated otherwise in the recruitment rules (applies to studies conducted in English)
  • a document marked in the system and confirming the possibility of undertaking studies without payment (if applicable)
  • colour digital photo in digital form, by the requirements used for issuing identity cards, with a minimum resolution of 236 x 295 pixels (JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PNG)

For minors: a statement by the legal representative (parent or legal guardian) indicating consent to study or a declaration that the candidate undertakes to provide the missing document immediately upon commencement of studies.

For more detailed information on each of the documents required, please visit the dedicated “Required Documents” tab on our website.

How can I confirm my language proficiency, and what can I do if I do not hold any language certificate?

Candidates can certify their language proficiency through:

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma, or
  • European Baccalaureate Diploma, or
  • a certificate or other document confirming knowledge of English at the B2 level following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages skills, or
  • a foreign document equivalent to a Polish upper secondary school leaving certificate, with English as the language of instruction, or
  • a foreign document equivalent to a Polish high school diploma, with English as the language of instruction.

If you do not hold any of the above documents, do not worry :)  You can take our internal language test, organised by the AMU Recruitment Committee.

The exam takes the form of a test and is conducted online upon registration in the Online Admission System. You will need to score 100 points out of 150 (>66.6) to pass the test. You will have one hour to complete the exam.
To pass the test, you will have two attempts.

Do the documents always have to be translated into Polish?

Any document issued in a language other than Polish should be translated into Polish.

The translation must be done by a sworn translator registered on the list of translators by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland, a sworn translator from the EU (if there is a sworn translation institution in the country) or another translation into Polish certified by a consul of the Republic of Poland in the country where the document was issued. If it is not possible to translate the document into Polish and the language of study is English, an English translation is possible. The translation must be done by an English translator accredited by the Government of the country where the document was issued or by a sworn EU translator (if there is a sworn translation institution in the country).

However, documents issued originally in English do not require translations.

What is an apostille, and how does it differ from legalisation?

Legalisation is an attestation procedure to establish formal conformity of a document with the law of the issuing country or authenticity of signatures and seals affixed on the document.
Foreign education-related documents – secondary school leaving exams and university diplomas obtained abroad must have an apostille attached or be legalised.  Without a proper attestation attached we will not accept such documents during admission.

Apostille is, in short, an attestation that the certificate/diploma you have is authentic, thanks to which it is possible to use it abroad. Apostille, which is issued in the form of a seal on the document or a separate document, you need to apply in the country issuing the document.
If the country that issued your document is a party to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 which abolished the requirement of legalisation of foreign official documents (Journal of Laws of 2005, no. 112, item 938), please check where you need to apply to obtain an apostille.

Legalisation - if the country that issued your document is not a party to the Hague Convention, then legalisation is done by the Polish consulate in this country. You need to contact the proper diplomatic institution and learn what the process involves.

What are the entrance examinations for, and what form will they take?

For each study programme, the Online Admission System provides detailed admission rules, including information on whether there are entrance examinations for the course in question.

The admission committee will inform you of the form and time of the entrance examination in advance.

On what principles do you calculate a candidate's results?

The basis for determining the order of candidates on ranking lists is their qualification result determined on the basis of the results of their Matura exam, OR foreign equivalents or scores on certificates/diplomas.

You have a foreign certificate and you want to study a major where the Polish language is required in the admission rules? In your case, a native language of the country that issued your certificate will be taken into account instead of Polish.

The results from your university entrance document are computed according to the rules given in this TABLE.

If your document issuing country is not listed in the TABLE, your scores are computed proportionally to the percentages of the Polish „new Matura”, and the grading scale used in your document issuing country is taken into account. That means that the highest (best) grade of your document is equivalent of 100% of the Polish Matura, and the lowest positive grade is equivalent of 30% of the Polish Matura. Your results computed that way are multiplied by the weights assigned to particular subjects for the Polish Matura extended level, according to the recruitment rules for your chosen field of study / major.

PLEASE NOTE: Documents with CT/CE, EGE, ZNO/NMT exam results must be valid and up-to-date.

Foreign candidates applying for admission to first-cycle studies and long-cycle studies holding an education document obtained outside the EU, EFTA, OECD countries, and other than the International Baccalaureate (IB), the European Baccalaureate (EB), or a document other than a document specified in an agreement on the recognition of education, are obliged to take an entrance examination to verify their knowledge in the scope required for studies in a given field, level and profile.

For more detailed information on this topic, check out the dedicated Calculating your qualification results tab on our website.

Where can I find the list of place limits for each course?

Place limits are specified for each course of study and are listed in the Online Admission System.

What photo should I attach to my application documents?

One of the required steps indicated in your account on the Online Admissions System under ‘My Enrolment’ is to attach a photo file. The photo is necessary to generate a personal questionnaire, which is one of the required documents in the event of qualifying for admission to the university. No photo verification is required to generate the personal questionnaire.

A photo with a resolution of min. 236x295 pixels must comply with the applicable requirements for the issuance of (new) identity cards. The photo should be taken against a uniform light background, have good sharpness and reflect the natural skin colour. The cropped photo should include the image from the top of the head to the top of the shoulders, so that the face occupies approximately 70 - 80% of the photograph, showing the eyes clearly and depicting the person in a frontal position (en face). An accepted photograph cannot be altered. If there is a valid reason for such a change, please contact the AMU Student Relations Office.

I have a status of ‘Selected for admission’ in the system. What should I do next?

A Candidate selected for admission is obliged to submit all required documents within the specified deadline and, upon doing so, is expected to take up the studies in the programme. Failure to submit the required documents within the specified deadline means the candidate opts out of taking up the studies.

During the enrollment process, candidates do not submit any documents in physical form.

What does it mean to ‘ uphold a wish to study’?

Candidates who have not been accepted for admission can submit a declaration of upholding their wish to study by a certain date. To submit a declaration, click on the “ uphold your wish to study” button under “My enrolment”.

From the group of applicants who have submitted declarations, the admissions sub-committee may, after the end of the first round, qualify candidates for the available places according to the ranking list. Candidates qualified for admission from the group of persons who have submitted declarations are required to submit the complete set of required documents by the deadline set by the recruitment sub-committee.

How do I opt out of the major I've been accepted into?

If you changed your mind and do not wish to take up studies in a particular programme, click “resign” so that other candidates have a chance to be selected :)

Where can I find confirmation of my acceptance to university?

You will find the confirmation of your acceptance to study at our university in your applicant account in the Online Admission System.

Does the university provide accommodation for its students?

As an AMU student, you can stay in one of 6 dormitories: Hanka, Zbyszko and Jagienka complex, Babilon, Meteor, and the Academic House on Nieszawska Street.

Prices vary depending on the chosen dormitory and the room standard. Application for a place in a student dormitory can be made in due time through the Usos system, which will accompany you throughout your studies.

Please note, however, that the submission of an application for a place in a dormitory DOES NOT guarantee the allocation of a place!

For more information, please see the AMU Dormitories page.

Does AMU offer a scholarship to candidates?

Unfortunately, we do not offer a scholarship for university applicants.

However, individuals with student status at our university can apply for social benefits (need-based scholarship, special scholarship for students with disabilities and one-time grants).

More information can be found HERE.

Does the university provide support in the visa process?

All visa matters are the sole responsibility of the relevant state authorities and are INDEPENDENT of the university.
Therefore, the university cannot provide visa support.

Is health insurance mandatory for students?

Yes, health insurance is mandatory. You can either register for voluntary health insurance with the National Health Fund (NFZ) if eligible or purchase private health insurance.

For more information, see the Healthcare tab on our website :)
