On behalf of the Organisers, we warmly invite you to the fifth lecture in the AMU Invited Lecture Series in MODERN CATALYSIS 2, which will be delivered by Prof. Douglas W. Stephan from the University of Toronto, Canada.
The talk on 'Frustrated Lewis Couples: New Directions' will be held on Friday, 21 April 2023, at noon in the Centre for Advanced Technology, seminar room D111/4-6 (first floor).
Prof. Douglas Stephan is an internationally recognised scientist. His scientific output exceeds 540 articles, which have been cited more than 40,000 times (Hirsch index = 88 (Web of Science), 99 (Google Scholar)). He has published in journals such as Science, Chem. Rev., Chem. Soc. Rev., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., ACS Catal., J. Amer. Chem. Soc., Nature, Chem. Commun. He works extensively on catalysis and elemental chemistry of significant groups, especially on the application of so-called 'Frustrated Lewis Pairs (FLPs)' in the synthesis of structurally advanced organic and organometallic compounds. It is worth noting that Prof Stephan is currently the chief editor of the journal Chemical Communications, and was previously editor of the prestigious Chemical Society Reviews for several years.
This meeting is an opportunity to explore the incredibly interesting field of catalysis based on FLP systems and to hear live from the chief editor of Chem. Commum., one of the world's most recognised scientists in the field of catalysis.
