"'The Republic of the Unheard' is a project referring to the band Republika, on 5 June at 7 p.m. in the AMU Concert Hall, we will musically return to the album ''Nieustanne Tango'' released equally 40 years ago. A charity auction will be held during the concert. All profits from ticket sales and the auction will be donated to the FIONA Foundation for the implementation of mental health prevention classes in Greater Poland schools.
Where did the idea to organise this event come from?
Mental health care for children and young adults in Poland is in deep decline. The increasing number of suicide attempts and the high percentage of young people suffering from depression make it impossible to ignore this problem. For this reason, students at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, have established the 'Republic of the Unheard'.
The following artists will perform: Czesław Mozil, Katarzyna Groniec, Swiernalis, Runforrest, Patryk Pietrzak, Mirra Rosz, the AMU Academic Choir directed by Beata Bielska, and Jazz Big Band 75 conducted by Piotr Dąbrowski. The event's artistic director is the well-known Poznań-based musician and composer Szymon Siwierski. The arrangements of all the compositions will differ from the originals. The musicians will create material based on existing compositions, meandering between various musical genres, without "covering".
The concert is organised by the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, the FIONA Foundation, the Greater Poland Cultural Association and the Poznań-based concert agency Good Taste Production. The patrons of the entire event are Ombudswoman for Children Rights, Monika Horna-Cieślak, Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, the Kostrzyń-Słubice Special Economic Zone, Greater Poland Agency for Enterprise Development, Headepy, Adam Mickiewicz University Foundation.
