Professor Jenny Haase (Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg), a researcher working in the style of new humanist theories as ecocriticism, new materialism, post-secularism and post- and decolonial theory, will deliver an open lecture entitled 'Vital Mysticism: Female Modernism, Transecular Subjectivities, and the Ethics of Relation' on Thursday, 26 October 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the headquarters of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Działyński Palace, Old Market 78/79, 2nd floor).
The subject concerns the tension between religious and secular thinking in the writing of modernist French, Spanish and Italian female poets and their demands for an ethics of relation which is sensitive to the body of both the subject itself and other subjects (human and non-human).
