On September 22, 2022, the COST Action was officially approved: CA21129 - What are Opinions? Integrating Theory and Methods for Automatically Analyzing Opinionated Communication (OPINION).
Prof. Agnieszka Stępińska from the AMU Faculty of Political Science and Journalism is one of two Polish representatives in the project. During the management committee meeting in Brussels in September 2022, professor Stępińska was elected a chairwoman of Working Group 1.
The purpose of Action CA 21129 - COST is to develop new methods and tools for studying opinions disseminated in the media, especially online media. The focus of the research is on messages containing value-laden statements, often emotionally charged, referring to stereotypes or prejudices.
The research is to address not only polarizing statements but also inclusive ones. There is also a proposal to prepare a grant application under the HORIZON program to obtain funds for the research planned within the research team.
The duration of the project will be until 2026.
