Distinguished scientists in the fields of supramolecular chemistry and porous materials will be brought together by the 17th International Seminar on Inclusion Compounds and Porous Materials. The event, attended by Nobel Laureate Prof Jean-Marie Lehn, will be held from 2-6 September at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.
The ISIC series was initiated in 1987 in Poland and has continued in Slovakia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, South Africa, Moldova, Turkey, the UK, Russia and Poland. In some countries, it has been repeatedly held.
" Originally, this scientific event was aimed primarily at young scientists who had limited opportunities to attend larger research meetings," writes Prof Agnieszka Janiak from the AMU Faculty of Chemistry. - "Over the years, however, the event has gradually evolved into a significant, cyclical scientific event with a broad thematic spectrum. Today, it is devoted, in addition to pure inclusion phenomena, recognition and supramolecular chemistry, to porous, nano- and advanced 'smart' materials and methods for their research. In addition, the upcoming edition will introduce a new dimension, covering the exploration of MOF, COF and ZIF porous materials and their potential applications."
The event organisers are Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań and the Polish Crystallographic Society.
