AMU students involvement in the success of the Sniphi project

Sniphi project team

The Sniphi project, developed in cooperation between Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, and Antdata, has achieved international success – it had its premiere in Silicon Valley and will soon be presented in Zurich.

The team behind this innovative technology includes Oliwia Staryszak, a student at the Faculty of Chemistry, author of experiments with the so-called digital nose – a device capable of recognising smells thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms, and Szymon Obst, a student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, co-creator of AI algorithms that recognise smells.

The ‘digital nose’ has enormous potential applications, ranging from food quality control to medicine and cosmetology, as well as environmental monitoring. During the Sensors Converge 2025 conference, Sniphi technology detected grain infected with pests, preventing losses of up to $3 million.

Our sincere congratulations to the students and their academic supervisors, Prof. Tomasz Górecki and Prof. Rafał Wawrzyniak!
