On 8 July, AMU Vice- Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Rafał Witkowski, along with the Director of the AMU Institute of Oriental Studies and Head of the Department of Japanese Studies of the AMU Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures, Prof. Beata Bochorodycz, visited Okayama University.
Okayama University, founded in 1949, is one of Japan's leading public universities. For years, it has maintained close cooperation with AMU, including student exchanges implemented under the EPOK programme.
The primary aim of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between the two higher education institutions, not only in student exchange, but also in the exchange of researchers and scientific potential. The topic of joint and global education was also discussed vividly.
It is hoped that the recent visit and the shared ideas will be fruitful in building long-lasting cooperation between the universities.
It is worth mentioning that, on the basis of currently existing agreements under EPOK (Exchange Program Okayama), we are pleased to host Japanese students within the walls of our university, while our students have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in Japan.
Okayama University pursues an internationalisation strategy aimed at creating an environment fostering joint study between Japanese and international students. The collaboration with AMU suits into this vision, offering students from both universities a variety of opportunities to develop in a global environment.
