A New Term of Rectoral Authorities

On September 1, 2024, a new term of office for the rectoral authorities of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań began. Prof. Piotr Pawluć joined the Rector's team, and Prof. Tadeusz Wallas became the Representative for University Development.

As a result of the Rector's election, held on April 19, 2024, Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska was re-elected for a new term. A week later, on April 26, a meeting of the Electoral College was held to accept nominations for vice-rectors. All candidates proposed by the Rector-Elect received the required majority of votes. In addition to Prof. Piotr Pawlucia, the following members of the Rector's team were elected: Prof. Michał Banaszak, Prof. Katarzyna Dziubalska-Kołaczyk, Prof. Zbyszko Melosik, Prof. Rafał Witkowski, Prof. Przemysław Wojtaszek and Prof. Joanna Wójcik, all of whom served as Vice-Rectors for the 2020-2024 term.

By the decision of AMU's Rector, Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, as of September 1, 2024, Prof. Piotr Pawluć will assume the position of Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Doctoral Schools, while Prof. Przemysław Wojtaszek will serve as Vice-Rector for Finance and Research Projects and supervisor of the School of Natural Sciences. Prof. Tadeusz Wallas, who had served as Vice-Rector for two terms, has been appointed as the Rector's Representative for University Development and will be responsible, among other things, for supervising AMU's branches and continuing work on launching a medical faculty.
