On 21 August 2025, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, signed a new cooperation agreement with Kokand University, a dynamically developing private university with campuses in Kokand and Andijan, Uzbekistan.
The partnership will concentrate on expanding cooperation in the humanities, economics and medicine, offering opportunities for teacher training and academic exchange.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Rafał Witkowski, AMU Vice-Rector for International Development, along with Mr. Nodirhon Sharafutdinov, Head of the Department of Languages at Kokand University.
During the discussions, representatives of the university addressed opportunities for teacher training and academic development for staff and students.
The meeting and signing ceremony were conducted by Prof. Christopher Korten from the AMU Faculty of History, who had recently visited Kokanda University as a guest lecturer.
Prof. Rafał Witkowski emphasised that: ‘‘This partnership reflects the AMU’s ongoing commitment to international cooperation and strengthening academic ties with Asia.
