On 8-10 April 2025, MTP Poznań EXPO turned into the centre of the most significant discussions on the energy and climate future - all thanks to H2POLAND & NetZero Energy, one of the immense Central and Eastern European events devoted to the energy transition, hydrogen technologies and the pursuit of climate neutrality.
The event combined a rich conference programme with over 100 speakers and an impressive exhibition display. As many as 150 companies and institutions from several countries presented their latest technologies and innovative solutions supporting the decarbonisation process, green transformation and modernisation of the energy sector. This year's edition drew thousands of participants, representing business, science, administration and civil society organisations, seeking answers to questions about tomorrow's energy future.
Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, was in this dynamic and inspiring environment with a powerful voice. Prof. Robert Przekop from the AMU Centre for Advanced Technologies served as moderator and organiser of the thematic session: ‘Decarbonisation - an opportunity or a threat for the Polish chemical industry?’, in which, together with invited experts, he analysed the impact of climate transformation on the chemical industry, its challenges and potential development directions. Additionally, he appeared as a speaker and moderator of the session ‘By-products of combustion - what comes after coal?’, focusing on the waste management generated by fossil fuel combustion and the need to implement innovative, sustainable solutions. This session was also attended by Miłosz Motyka - Undersecretary at the Ministry of Climate and Environment, responsible for the RES and electricity sector - who highlighted the significance of Europe's independence from technology imports and the need to reindustrialise the continent as a foundation for energy and technological security. The Minister also found time to visit the AMU Campus and pay a visit to the AMU Centre for Advanced Technologies.
AMU had a presence in the exhibition zone as well - doctoral students and employees of the Technological Processes Laboratory of the AMU Centre for Advanced Technologies passionately represented the university, sharing their knowledge and experience. The AMU stand attracted a significant amount of interest and became the venue for numerous valuable discussions. Notably, the event was also visited by the
Vice-Rector for Digitization and Business Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Michał Banaszak, who, with his presence, expressed his support for the involvement of scientists and the importance of the university's participation in international initiatives related to green transformation. AMU's participation in H2POLAND & NetZero Energy 2024 is testimony to the fact that science has a genuine impact on shaping a better, responsible future - one based on knowledge, innovation and dialogue.
