AMU breaks record in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025

Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, ranked 3rd in Poland and 283rd in the world in this year's edition of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025, evaluating the commitment of higher education institutions to sustainable development and the promotion of its ideas. The university scored a total of 7,800 points, which is the highest result in the AMU's history of participation in the ranking (since 2017). This year's result confirms our university's strong position in the sustainable development area.

The score of 7,800 points was determined on the basis of six areas:

Setting & Infrastructure: 1,200 points,
Energy & Climate Change: 1,675 points,
Waste: 1,725 points,
Water: 562.5 points,
Transportation: 1,162.5 points,
Education & Research: 1,475 points.

The ranking has been organised since 2010 by the University of Indonesia (UI). Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands) once again topped the list. The podium also included University College Cork (Ireland; 4th place in 2024) and Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom; 2nd place in 2024).

In Poland, AMU ranked third behind Gdańsk University of Technology (130th place worldwide) and the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów (246th place worldwide). A total of 13 Polish universities were included in the ranking (15 in 2024).
