Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, ranked 254th in the third edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026 regional ranking. It represents a four-place increase compared to last year. The university ranked 1st in Poland in the International Research Network category.

The role of the QS European ranking is to present a European list containing more universities than in the company's main global ranking. It includes higher education institutions from member countries of the Council of Europe. The ranking methodology is based on five categories (lenses):
- Research and Discovery (45%),
- Global Engagement (25%),
- Employability and Outcomes (20%),
- Learning Experience (5%),
- Sustainability (5%).
Each of the above areas is divided into indicators with different weights. To a large extent, these refer to the methodology of the leading global university ranking, QS World University Rankings, although they have been assigned differently to individual categories and given different weights.
This year, AMU was ranked highest in three areas:
- International Research Network (120th place in Europe, 2nd place in Eastern Europe, 1st place in Poland),
- Inbound Exchange Student Ratio (136th place in Europe, 20th place in Eastern Europe, 6th place in Poland),
- Faculty Student Ratio (164th place in Europe, 36th place in Eastern Europe, 16th place in Poland),
The good results achieved by AMU are also noteworthy, especially in the regional dimension, in the following areas: Academic Reputation (207th place, 10th place in Eastern Europe, 4th place in Poland), and Sustainability (205th place in Europe, 12th place in Eastern Europe, 4th place in Poland).
The European leader is the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), surpassing last year's leader, ETH Zurich (Switzerland), and Imperial College London (United Kingdom).
