AMU on a steady position in THE Impact Rankings

The results of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024 are available. Despite a higher number of listed universities, AMU's place in the overall ranking remains solid. The university was ranked 1001-1500 out of almost 2000 participating universities. Last year, AMU was ranked 1000+ out of 1591 listed universities.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is the only classification that assesses universities against the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by UN member states as part of the 'Transforming Our World: 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development'.

AMU was ranked in six areas:

  • SDG4 - quality education (ranked 601-800),
  • SDG5 - Gender equality (ranked 301-400),
  • SDG10 - Reducing inequalities (ranked 201-300),
  • SDG13 - Climate Action (ranked 401-600),
  • SDG17 - Partnerships for the Goals (601-800).

Under Goal 5 - Gender Equality, AMU was ranked for the first time, placing 301-400 globally. In addition, similar to last year, AMU scored the highest in Goal 10 - Reducing Inequalities, ranking 201-300 globally and 1-6 nationally.

In five areas, the university recorded an increase in the point values of the overall score. The greatest progress was observed in the area of SDG4 - quality education, in which AMU improved its score by 10.2 points, reflecting in a higher ranking position (moving from a position of 801-1000 last year to 601-800 in 2024).

The top three in the global ranking were: Western Sydney University, the University of Manchester and the University of Tasmania. The leader of the ranking of universities in Poland is the University of Gdansk.
