Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, has seen a significant improvement in the latest Impact 2025 ranking by Times Higher Education (THE). In the overall ranking, AMU moved up to 601-800 from the previous range of 1001-1500. The university achieved its highest score under Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnership for the Goals), where it ranked 101-200, an improvement from its previous position of 601-800.
THE Impact ranking assesses universities according to the implementation of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. This year's edition ranked 2318 universities, representing an increase of 355 universities compared to the previous year.
SDG 17 aims to strengthen implementation measures and reinvigorate global partnerships for sustainable development. This includes resource mobilisation, knowledge sharing, promotion of environmentally friendly technologies and capacity building in developing countries.
AMU has been ranked in five Sustainable Development Goals, with increases in three of them:
- Gender Equality (SDG5): 201-300 (up from 301-400)
- Climate Action (SDG13): 301-400 (up from 400-600)
- Partnership for the Goals (SDG17): 101-200 (up from 601-800)
The top three ranked universities in the world are: Western Sydney University (Australia), the University of Manchester (UK) and Kyungpook National University (South Korea).
