The Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, has been highly rated in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2024. AMU was ranked first in Poland in Education (jointly with Jagiellonian University and the University of Wroclaw) and Arts and Humanities (jointly with Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw).
For the first time, AMU was also included in the Computer Science category.
In the individual fields, Adam Mickiewicz University earned the following places:
- Arts and Humanities: 301-400
- Computer Science: 801-1000
- Education: 301-400
- Life Sciences: 601-800
- Physical Sciences: 801-1000
- Psychology: 501-600
- Social Sciences: 601-800.
This year's Times Higher Education by Subject ranking was conducted under a refreshed methodology. The changes concerned the analysis area of university publication activity. In addition to the existing metrics (number of scientific papers and their citations), the following publication validity indicators were added: Research Excellence and Research Influence.
The evaluation of university quality in the ranking includes five significant indicators: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook and Industry. Data is obtained from universities, the Scopus database and academic reputation surveys distributed to researchers.
