Crown of Polish Mountains in every smartphone

Planning to climb another peak or going on holiday with your loved ones to the Polish mountains?

If so, from today you can use the "Korona Góra Polski 3D" [Crown of Polish Mountains 3D] service.

The service dedicated to smartphones was developed by students of Cartography and Geomatics as a part of the course "Virtual and Augmented Reality" conducted by Dr. Łukasz Halik from the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.

By entering the address kgp3d.amu.edu.pl, each user will be able to see in 3D all 28 peaks of the "Crown of Polish Mountains". In addition to the 3D view, you can also check what you can see while standing on the summit.

Those with newer smartphones (supporting ARCore) can also display the 3D model "at home", i.e. on their own desk or floor (augmented reality). After the virtual trip, everyone will also be able to place the summit as a 3D model on their own website/blog for free, using a code that allows embedding the model on external services.

If you see a potential application of the presented method of (geo)visualisation in an augmented reality system in your business, we invite you to start a research and development cooperation.
