he Routledge Publishing House has released a monograph entitled. "Film and place in an intercultural perspective: India-Europe film connections", edited by Krzysztof Stachowiak, a member of the Faculty of Human Geography and Planning. The co-editors are Hania Janta (University of Basel, Switzerland), Jani Kozina (Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Slovenia) and Therese Sunngren-Granlund (Novia University of Applied Sciences, Finland). Apart from Prof. Krzysztof Stachowiak, the authors of the chapters are also employees of the Adam Mickiewicz University: Malwina Balcerak, PhD (Faculty of Human Geography and Planning) and Prof. Marcin Adamczak (Faculty of Anthropology and Cultural Studies).
The case studies featured in the book, written by European and Indian authors, analyse various European contexts, including the established (Western Europe) and the emerging (Central and Eastern Europe and Northern Europe). It contributes to the debate on globalisation, either cultural or economic, and its effects. It also deepens existing research on the generalisation of the Indian film industry, shedding new light on the relationship between India and Europe.
