Free plants are available at the AMU Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences

Prof Mirosław Makohonienko, head of the Institute of Geoecology and Geoinformation at the AMU Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences, has started his annual campaign to give away plants he has grown. By Friday, about 200 lucky people who come to the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences after 9:30 a.m. will have a chance to receive a plant grown by Prof Makohonienko. As the scientist says, the third week of October is the best time for such an action because students are just then arranging their flats:

"The idea is straightforward - sometimes there are these plants left at home, and it is a pity to get rid of them or throw them away, so I thought that since they are there, I can give them to others," says Prof. Miroslav Makohonienko. He adds: - "And because plant propagation comes easily to me, so there are increasingly more of them, and over the year, a large number are collected that can be donated. Throughout the week, people can take them. Last year, it was 1,000 plants. This year, we will see. We haven't counted them yet, but it might be a bit more. We try to have about, 200, 300 plants to give out every day.
