On 28-31 August 2023, the Second French-Polish Chemistry Congress was held at the National Superior School of Chemistry in Montpellier. The Chair of the Organising Committee was Professor Violetta Patroniak from the Faculty of Chemistry, accompanied by a strong team of female scientists from AMU.
The event was a continuation of the Polish-French Assises tradition of scientific chemical conferences held in Paris.
Distinguished scholars from Poland and France Professors Artur Ciesielski (Adam Mickiewicz University, University of Strasbourg), Karol Grela (University of Warsaw, Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences), Teofil Jesionowski (Poznan University of Technology), Guillaume Maurin (University of Montpellier), Miłosz Pawlicki (Jagiellonian University) and Sebastien Ulrich (The French National Centre for Scientific Research) honoured the meeting with their presence.
Among those greeting more than 120 participants was Professor Maciej Forycki (Faculty of History) - Honorary Member of the Organising Committee, Spiritus Movens of all meetings of researchers from France and Poland.
The Congress aimed to promote Polish science in France, disseminate the achievements of Polish and French research groups and promote international cooperation. The closing ceremony of the Congress was graced by Her Magnificence Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University, Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska.
