IDEO becomes a partner of AMU

The Institute of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures is pleased to announce that the partnership agreement between the Dominican Institute of Oriental Studies (IDEO) in Cairo and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań has been signed by the director of IDEO, Dr Emmanuel Pisani OP and the vice-rector of AMU Prof. Rafał Witkowski. The agreement was signed as a result of the visit to Egypt paid last November by the head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at AMU Institute of Oriental Studies, Dr Filip Jakubowski.

The Dominican Institute of Oriental Studies (IDEO), founded in 1953, is a centre of fundamental research on the sources of Arab-Muslim civilization, with a library of more than 150,000 volumes and numerous journals covering all disciplines of Islamology.

We are looking forward to this cooperation.
