MCO Student Essay Competition

The Magna Charta Observatory Association invites university students from all over the globe to participate in an essay competition. The topic of the essay is: How might students exercise more influence in enabling their universities to make a more effective contribution to society?

Magna Charta Universitatum, in both the 1988 and 2020 versions, recognises the role that students play in universities. To increase the involvement of this group in higher education, the Magna Charta Observatory Association (MCO) is launching a competition: the Student Essay Competition.

The main objective of the contest is to collect insights from students on how they can have a more significant impact on universities to engage more strongly with social issues.

The competition offers five prizes in the form of all-expenses-paid participation in the MCO anniversary conference, which will take place from 23-25 October 2023 in Lodz, Poland. During the event, the winners will have the possibility to present their essays and participate in panel discussions.

Entries can be submitted until 12 June 2023.
The results will be announced on 28 July 2023.
