In response to the invitation of the Polish authorities and based on the findings of the pre-election Needs Assessment Mission, the OSCE/ODIHR Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights has sent an Observation Mission to the upcoming parliamentary elections in Poland, scheduled to be held on 15 October 2023.
It is the sixth time that ODIHR has observed elections in our country (since 2007). The Observation Mission to Poland provides a comprehensive analysis of the entire electoral process. Its members hosted a visit to the AMU Faculty of Political Science and Journalism on 9 October.
Research Centre for Public Engagement of Women, jointly with the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, organised two meetings for the Long-Term Mission Observers with experts AMU. The participants in the discussion were:

The second (online) meeting was held with the Chief Analyst Team at the Warsaw headquarters. The following individuals spoke as experts during this session: Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism Prof. Andrzej Stelmach, Director of the Research Centre for Public Engagement of Women, Prof. Iwetta Andruszkiewicz, Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Maciej Walkowski, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Szymon Ossowski, PhD, Prof. Przemysław Osiewicz, and Prof. Grażyna Strnad.
The meetings concentrated, among other things, on the existing legal framework and the consequences of recent changes, the conduct of elections, the campaign environment and rhetoric, the manner of campaign financing, and the participation of observers.
A report with the provisional conclusions of the observer mission will be published on the ODIHR website.
