Prof. Dominika Skrzypek (Chair of Scandinavian Studies) has been elected a foreign member of the Royal Humanist Society of Uppsala (Kungliga Humanistiska Vetenskaps-Samfundet).

The Society was founded in 1889. Its goal is to support the development of humanistic research (especially in the fields of history, philosophy and philology), which the Society achieves through publication activities, the organisation of symposia or conferences and financial support for both experienced and budding researchers, including the awarding of prestigious prizes: Arguspriset för humaniora and Westinska priset.
