Rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki awarded the Medal of the Commission of National Education

Minister Przemysław Czarnek awarded The Medal of the Commission of National Education medal to the Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Nikolaos Papaioannou.

- I am very pleased that I could award the medal of the Commission of National Education to the rector of the largest Greek university - said the Minister of Education and Science during the ceremony.

The head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education paid attention to the importance of international cooperation in the field of science and higher education:

- I am pleased with the good relations of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with the university in Thessaloniki. It is - one could say - a kind of cooperation between Aristotle and Mickiewicz - emphasized the minister.

The minister emphasized that he hopes to expand the cooperation with the largest Greek university.

- I am convinced that this cooperation will go very well, as it has so far, and even better. It will be a great benefit for science in the world, especially in Greece and Poland. I sincerely congratulate and thank you for accepting this medal - pointed out by the Minister of Education and Science.

The ceremony was attended by, among others: Greek Ambassador to Poland Michael Daratzikis, Vice President of American-Hellenic University Dr Leonidas Tzonis, Polish parliamentarians and representatives of universities cooperating with the Greek university.

The Medal of the Commission of National Education is awarded for special merits for education and upbringing.
