By the decision of the Chapter of the 'Stars of Internationalisation' Award, Rev. Prof. Piotr Nawrot, from the Faculty of Theology, was honoured with the Star of Internationalisation Award in the Public Diplomacy Star category for his action promoting, spreading and restoring baroque missionary music.
Prof. Piotr Nawrot has been working in Bolivia for more than 20 years, dedicated his scientific and artistic career to the popularisation of missionary baroque music from the former Jesuit churches.
He is the organiser and artistic director of the "Misiones de Chiquitos" International Festival of American Renaissance and Baroque Music in Santa Cruz, which brings together artists and musicians from more than 24 countries around the globe.
For his scientific and artistic work, Rev. Prof. Piotr Nawrot has been repeatedly awarded, among others, the Queen Isabella Catholic Medal, the international Queen Sophia Award, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, and the Benemerenti in Opere Evangelizationis Award.
The Internationalisation Stars Award is presented by a chapter consisting of representatives of Polish institutions and organisations to individuals involved in the development of internationalisation who have had outstanding achievements in the internationalisation of Polish higher education institutions. The Award is granted under the patronage of the President of CRASP, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, PhD. The Secretariat of the Award is directed by the Educational Foundation "Perspektywy".
