We are looking for two students to support a three-year grant in linguistic typology on “Semantic universals of classifier systems". This is an excellent opportunity to do cutting-edge research with linguists in France, Sweden and Poland, whose aims are to create a database of over 3000 languages and analyse the types of classifiers and their semantics. The student will
- gather data and conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses on classifier types and the semantic values found in classifier systems
- contribute to conference presentations and publications
A monthly salary of PLN 5,000 is provided for participating students.

The competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, Article 113 as amended) and who meet the following requirements:
- A BA degree
- Current status as a student at AMU
- Familiarity with basic linguistic terminology in the areas of morphology, syntax and semantics
Required languages
- Language: English
- Level: Good
Required research, teaching or mixed experience
Optional qualifications include:
- Familiarity with basic issues and terminology in the area of linguistic typology
- Familiarity with quantitative computational analyses and programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
- Participation in research projects
- Authorship or co-authorship of a conference presentation
- Authorship or co-authorship of a scholarly publication
