On 4 June 2024, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, hosted the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Poland, Dr Ha Hoang Hai. The Ambassador was welcomed by the AMU Vice-Rector for Digitisation and Business Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Michał Banaszak. Following the meeting, H.E. Dr Ha Hoang Hai visited the Faculty of Ethnolinguistics, where, upon discussion with the dean's team, the Ambassador talked with students and lecturers of the Vietnamese Studies specialisation.
The meeting proved to be highly fruitful. After discussing the framework of cooperation between AMU and the Vietnamese side, the Ambassador presented possibilities for further development of relations both at the ministerial level and between our university and higher education institutions in Vietnam.
For the Ambassador, a meeting in Poznań, including our university, was the first trip through Poland after assuming his diplomatic office. The decision to come to Poznań was dictated, among other things, by personal reasons, as Dr Ha Hoang Hai's mother was one of the first Vietnamese language teachers at AMU.
