1096 days after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the employees of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, have prepared two comprehensive reports
- "The commitment of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, to support Ukraine and the Ukrainians after 24 February 2022,"
- "The support of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, to Reform Higher Education in Ukraine."
"The University, as a public institution, has not been established to provide aid and assistance to those in need. However, we are all humans," wrote in the foreword of the report on "The commitment of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, to support Ukraine and the Ukrainians after 24 February 2022" Her Magnificence the Rector, Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska. Furthermore, she adds: - "We could not remain indifferently. And as an academic community, we did not turn a blind eye! The commitment of all the AMU employees was immense and born out of the need of the heart. The 2022 spring and summer atmosphere is unforgettable. When the great period of ‘COVID isolation’ ended, we began a time of spontaneous, deep and sincere solidarity, shown to the refugees from Ukraine, and to those who remained in the war-torn country," describes Prof. Kaniewska.
The report consists of 170 pages summarising all documentable initiatives undertaken by the university's academic community - both employees and students of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan. Among other things, the report on "The support of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, to Reform Higher Education in Ukraine," highlights significant projects, including summer schools organized with the support of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange and the National Centre for Research and Development.
