The Ukrainian Students' Union officially joins the list of student organisations at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. It is an initiative that arose from the need to create a space of community, support and integration for Ukrainian students studying in Poland.
The Ukrainian Students Union at AMU (USUA) aims not only to build a community among students from Ukraine but also to promote Ukrainian culture and deepen knowledge of the country's history, politics, and contemporary challenges. Numerous educational and artistic events are planned, such as lectures, workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions, literary meetings or film screenings. The organisation is also committed to the enhancement of intercultural dialogue and cooperation with Polish and Ukrainian universities, cultural institutions and student organisations in Poland and abroad.
Creating a safe and open space where Ukrainian students can share their experiences, support each other and implement their initiatives will also be an essential aspect of its activities. As the members of the organisation write:
- 'An urgent task we intend to undertake is to shape our space for activities. A place where you will feel at home, where you will always be welcomed and which will help you to experience at least a little bit of the warmth of home, the one that dwells in the hearts of each and every one of us and to which we will all undoubtedly return. This time, more aware of the opportunity to support our homeland.'
