The National Science Centre Poland (NCN) announces a special scholarship program aimed at students and researchers from Ukraine who have taken or will take refuge in Poland as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
The purpose of the program is to financially support students/scientists by providing them with an opportunity to continue their studies, work on their master's thesis or PhD dissertation, or pursue any other form of education at Polish scientific institutions.
A student/scientist joining the program must meet the following requirements:
- does not have a doctoral degree or equivalent qualification (Candidate of Science) as of the closing date of the call for applications, and
- has left Ukraine on February 24 (or later) as a result of the war, or intends to leave Ukraine
as well as:
- he/she was/is a student/doctoral candidate at a Ukrainian university in the 2021/2022 academic year, or
- he/she was/is employed at an academic unit in Ukraine.
The scholarship for the student/researcher should be planned for a period of 6 to 12 months, with the implementation period of the scholarship not starting later than March 1, 2023. It is allowed to implement the scholarship remotely from the territory of Ukraine, for a period of no more than half of the requested program period. Scheduled funding from NCN in the total amount of PLN 5 thousand per month includes the scholarship and the cost of hosting the student/scientist.
The amount of the scholarship ranges from PLN 3.5 thousand to PLN 5 thousand.
