The following lecture in the AMU Invited Lecture Series in Modern Catalysis 5 will be held on Friday, 27 June 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the AMU Centre for Advanced Technology (Building D, Room D111/3, first floor). The event's guest speaker will be Prof. Dr Mu-Hyun Baik from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) - one of the most renowned research universities in South Korea.
The lecture, entitled ‘The Electro-Inductive Effect’, will focus on, among other things, a cutting-edge approach to modulating the chemical properties of molecules through the application of controlled voltage without the need for time-consuming chemical synthesis.
Prof Mu-Hyun Baik is a world-class expert in computational chemistry, reaction mechanisms and transition metal catalysis. He has authored or co-authored more than 280 scientific publications in the top prestigious journals, and the professor's work has been cited more than 12,300 times.
The lecture will be organised by the Laboratory of Applied and Sustainable Catalysis of the Centre for Advanced Technologies of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, in cooperation with the Excellence Initiative - Research University programme. The event is under the patronage of the Committee on Chemical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznań Branch.
We warmly invite all interested persons to participate!
