Event date:

The lecture 'Epigenetics: coordinated gene regulation beyond the DNA sequence'

We kindly invite you to the lecture "Epigenetics: coordinated gene regulation beyond the DNA sequence", given by PD PhD Philipp Rathert from the University of Stuttgart. The event is organised with funding from the City of Poznan.

The seminar will be held on 21 November 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Różycki Hall of the Collegium Anatomicum of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences.

Philipp Rathert is an associate professor and lecturer at the Institute of Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart. He completed his PhD at Jacobs University in Bremen in 2007 and subsequently associated his professional life with internships at biotechnology enterprises -  Active Motif (Belgium) and Cellzome (Germany). He successively developed his research interests at the Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, where, among other things, his results were published in the journal Nature, describing the mechanism of chromatin packing changes responsible for resistance to BET inhibitors in the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia.

Since 2015, she has been an independent researcher at the University of Stuttgart, researching molecular epigenetic mechanisms relevant to the disease. In particular, his studies concentrate on understanding changes in chromatin packing in different types of cancer.

He is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship, EU and a recipient of grants from various research funding institutions such as the DFG, DLR, Wilhelm Sander Foundation and German Cancer Aid.
