On 23 May an international conference of the joint German-Polish Handbook Commission of Historians and Geographers "The Present of the Past in Museums and Places of Remembrance" will be inaugurated in Berlin with the participation of representatives of the Polish and German governments, co-organised and co-financed by the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.
During the conference, more than 100 representatives of the scientific and teaching communities from Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic will discuss the problem of the contemporary representation of the past in museums and the media, as well as in historical education.
The event will include the prestigious Maria Wawrykowa Award to Prof. Anna Wolff-Powęska for her contribution to Polish-German dialogue and the development of mutual relations.
