University Leadership: What? Why? And How?

On February 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM, prof. Jeremy Sanders from the University of Cambridge will give a lecture titled "University Leadership: What? Why? And How? ”.

As a guest of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, he will try to answer the following questions: what is leadership at the university and how does it differ from administration, what are the roles and responsibilities of the rector, deans, directors, managers, as well as what authority these leaders have and how they should be used for archiving best results.

Prof. Jeremy Keith Morris Sanders CBE FRS is a British professor of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge. He is editor-in-chief of the Royal Society Open Science magazine. He is known for his contributions to many fields, including NMR spectroscopy and supramolecular chemistry. His Hirsch index is 81 (over 28,000 citations). For over 20 years he held various managerial positions at the University: in 2000–2006 - dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, 2009–2011 - head of the School of Exact Sciences, and in 2006–2010 and 2011–2015 - vice-chancellor (Pro-Vice-Chancellor).
