Political and Legal Thought Research Unit and the Academic Club of American Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration cordially invite you to a webinar with internationally renowned scholars who will discuss Lemkin and his work and the Genocide Convention in light of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. The event is organised as part of the Washington District Columbia Bar's professional training.
The Russian aggression against Ukraine bears many of the hallmarks of genocide and the conference will discuss the potential applications of the Convention to the prosecution of the crimes of 'genocide' and incitement to genocide crimes committed by the Russians. While contemporary applications of the Genocide Convention are quite limited, Poland is one of the countries where such prosecutions have been effective and started relatively early.
The first part of the webinar will take place on 1 December at 6 pm (Warsaw time).
The second part is planned for the third week of January.
Pre-registration is required.
