All International Students, Visitors and Staff are invited for the 1st Welcome City Walk this semester, organized by AMU Welcome Centre!

Program: a walk to the Citadel Park to explore Poznan’s largest 19th-century fortified area of Citadel hills, with historic burial grounds for Polish, French, Prussian, German, Soviet, British and Commonwealth soldiers. They fought in battles from 1810-15 (Napoleonic Wars), 1863 (January Uprising), 1870-71 (Franco-Prussian War) until WWI and WWII and 1956 Poznan Uprising.
We will also take a look at the military museum (tanks, heavy guns, planes and helicopters!) the Heroes Monument, the Bell of Peace and open-air sculpture displays by Magdalena Abakanowicz.
On the way we will talk about the traditions of All Saints Day in Poland and other countries, celebrated on November 1st and you will have a chance to light some symbolic candles in memory of all those who passed away.
At the end we will enjoy a free hot cup of coffee or tea.
