The AMU Faculty of History invites you to a series of guest seminars on ‘New Approaches to History in a Changing World: A View from China’, hosted in English by Professor Zhang Zuocheng (Institute of History, Northeast Normal University, China) on March 3rd, 4th and 6th.
The mini-course encourages students to go beyond conventional Eurocentric and Sinocentric frames of thinking by engaging them directly with Chinese historical sources, theories and approaches to the past. It prompts critical reflection on how historiography is shaped by social, political and intellectual contexts and how Chinese historians influence global historical discourse.
