The Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, has once again been ranked at the top of the international Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects, achieving high positions in five disciplines.
In this year's ranking, AMU was ranked in two main subject areas:
Natural Sciences
- Geography: position 201-300 in the world
- Ecology: ranked 301-400 in the world
- Atmospheric Science: placing 301-400 in the world
- Mathematics: ranked 301-400 in the world
Social sciences
- Education: ranked 301-400 in the world
Among Polish universities, AMU achieved 1st position in Ecology and Atmospheric Science (ex aequo with the University of Warsaw). As the only university in Poland, it was qualified in the areas of Geography and Education. The university was ranked fourth in the country in Mathematics.
The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects assesses universities in 55 disciplines within the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences. It considers five major indicators:
- World-Class Faculty - World-Class Team
- World-Class Output
- High-Quality Research
- Research Impact
- International Collaboration (resulting from publications)
AMU scored highest on the Research Impact indicator. The Education discipline stood out in particular, scoring 50 points.
