AMU strengthens its position in the QS World University Ranking

QS World University Ranking 2026

Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, was ranked 741-750 in the annual World University Ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). It is an increase from a position of 761-770.

The ranking methodology consists of an assessment of indicators grouped into five main areas: Research and Discovery (50%), Employability Outcomes (20%), Learning Experience (10%), Global Engagement (15%) and Sustainability (5%).  
AMU scored the highest in the last three areas under the specific indicators:

  • International Research Network (196th in the world; up 22 places from last year),
  • Faculty Student Ratio (427th place; an increase of 46 places),
  • Sustainability (431st place; up 1 place),
  • Academic Reputation (528th place; up 25 places).

This year, 20 universities from Poland were included in the ranking. The podium was occupied by Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University and Warsaw University of Technology. AMU was ranked 4th in the country. The Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, achieved the highest score - 1st place in Poland - in the International Research Network. This indicator assesses the sustainability and diversity of international research partnerships, resulting in publications.

A total of 1,501 universities were ranked in the latest edition of the ranking. The leading positions in the global rating were awarded to higher education institutions from the United States and the United Kingdom -  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Imperial College London, Stanford University, Oxford University and Harvard University.
