Sylwia Lewicka, a first-year journalism student at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, has received an honourable mention in the Omnibus category of the nationwide Sigma Challenge 2026 competition.
Sigma Challenge is an interdisciplinary knowledge competition for students organised by the editorial team of XYZ and PWN Scientific Publishers. Participants tackle questions requiring not only specialist knowledge but also a good grasp of current events and trends.
This year’s edition was held online on 6 May. Students competed in seven categories: Economics, Economy and Finance; Modern Technologies; Energy and Industry; Health and Medicine; Sport and Sports Marketing; Art and (Pop) Culture; and Omnibus. The last category tested the participants’ all-around knowledge — both general knowledge and issues from all other competition areas. It is in this special category that Sylwia Lewicka from the AMU Faculty of Political Science and Journalism received an honourable mention.
The ceremony announcing the results and presenting the awards took place on 22 May at the Belvedere Restaurant in Łazienki Park, Warsaw.
