In November this year, Artium Quaestiones (Institute of Art History of AMU Faculty of Arts Studies) received notification of its positive evaluation and inclusion in the Scopus database.
Artium Quaestiones is one of Poland's most significant peer-reviewed academic journals in the history of art, published annually by the AMU Institute of Art History. It has been published since 1979 by the Adam Mickiewicz University Press. Presently, it is also available in electronic form on the Adam Mickiewicz University Open Scientific Journals Platform – PRESSTO. From the outset, it has focused on theoretical and methodological issues in art history.
The journal publishes articles on modern and contemporary art as well as ancient art, including architecture, with a particular focus on Central and Eastern European art. Artium Quaestiones features original and in-depth studies that set new research perspectives and/or testify to the reception and critical reworking of existing methodological concepts and their application in the study of ancient and contemporary art.
A distinctive feature of Artium Quaestiones is its critical reviews of the latest literature in the discipline, particularly translations of significant theoretical and analytical texts, articles and book chapters. So far, there have been translations of works by authors such as Rosalind Krauss, Hal Foster, Mieke Bal, William J. T. Mitchell, Nicholas Mirzoeff, Griselda Pollock, Georges Didi-Huberman, Louis Marin, Max Imdahl, Michael Brötje, Horst Bredekamp and Hans Belting. On many occasions, these were the first translations of these researchers' texts in Poland.
Artium Quaestiones is indexed in the European Index for the Humanities (ERIH) and Index Copernicus International (ICI). It is also included in The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH) database. It is also available in the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) database and in open access on the EBSCO platform.
