European Science Fair to be held next year in Poznań

On 16th December, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dariusz Wieczorek,  Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, and the President of the Management Board of the MTP Group, Tomasz Kobierski, signed a letter of intent to organise the European Science Fair. The event will kick off on 3rd June 2025 and last until 6th June.

The European Science Fair will be held at the MTP Poznań Expo during the largest industrial trade fair ITM Industry Europe. It will bring together representatives from science, industry and research institutions in one place. The organisers hope to create a platform linking science, innovation and business.

At the fair, universities, research institutes and technology start-ups will present their achievements, promoting cooperation between the education sector and industry. The event will inspire young scientists and entrepreneurs to pursue innovative activities and establish international contacts.

- "Polish science needs to commercialise the - often - outstanding ideas of Polish scientists and researchers. We have to cooperate closely with the industry so that the effects of the work of Polish research institutes and universities can be used in practice," said the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dariusz Wieczorek. As he emphasised, it will be the first such event, offering scientists an opportunity to present their research potential and entrepreneurs to establish contacts to make use of the capabilities of scientists, scholars and institutes in the future.

- "I am delighted that we, as the University, can participate in the organisation of the European Science Fair," said the AMU Rector, Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska. - "As the University, we have excellent congress experience. We have already organised, on the fairgrounds, several science congresses and all of them were extremely successful. MTP Congress Expo and Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, are two trademarks of our city and the closer the cooperation is between us, the more beneficial it will be for all," added Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, noting the importance of developing international cooperation, either between universities or between universities and business, especially in the year of the Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union, when the European Universities initiatives will be discussed.

"I am very pleased that the MTP Poznań Expo will once again be a venue where science and business come together and, on this occasion, we will provide an opportunity to educate the next generation of Polish business and Polish science, first and foremost to exchange contacts, share knowledge on ongoing projects, and perhaps, in the future, give them a chance for joint business success," said Tomasz Kobierski, President of the MTP Group Management Board.
