IX Spring Concert ‘Misterium de Montserrat’

For many years, Collegium Chemicum has been welcoming spring in a unique way - with a concert. This year was no exception, with the 9th Spring Concert, entitled ‘Mysterium de Montserrat’ held on Saturday, 22 March.

‘Misterium de Montserrat’ is an original musical project by Paweł Głowiński based on the songs and dances preserved to this day in the famous ‘Llibre Vermell de Montserrat’, i.e. the Red Book of Montserrat from the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat in Spain. The masterpiece does not attempt to recreate the original sound of the medieval melodies but rather is a kind of musical meditation upon them.

The performing artists were:

Marta Maślanka - dulcimer,
Wojciech Lubertowicz - duduk, hoop drums, string drum, bells, Persian ney, tombak, darbuka,
Mateusz Szemraj - saz (baglama), rubab,
BeFour quartet: Karolina Piesik, Kamila Tracewska-Mikołajczak, Anna Komendzińska, Brygida Sawicka-Stępińska,
Chamber Choir of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań,
Solo: Joanna Piech-Sławecka,
Kazimierz Ilski - words,
Krzysztof Szydzisz - conductor.
