We are very proud and delighted to announce that Prof. Dagmara Drewniak (Canadian Literature Research Unit) has been awarded the Pierre Savard Award for the best book on Canadian themes published in a language other than English and French in 2022.
The award-winning book is the Jagiellonian University Publishing House's 'The Figure of Home. Sketches on the recent English-language literature of emigrants from Polish lands and their descendants in Canada' (Orig. "Figura domu. Szkice o najnowszej anglojęzycznej literaturze emigrantów z ziem polskich i ich potomków w Kanadzie.")
The Pierre Savard Award is a prestigious prize, given annually by the International Council for Canadian Studies/Le Conseil International d'études Canadiennes.
Prof Drewniak will receive the award at an official ceremony to be held in June 2023 at York University in Toronto.
